Our Team.

Meet your fabulous FIT HOP INSTRUCTOR TEAM! Each member of our crew has their own flavour and approach to creating and delivering dance education, with skillsets and experience including HHI street dance, tertiary qualifications, ballroom dance, AJDA dance syllabus certification, pacific and cultural dance, nationwide performance and international dance competition.

Sonjia been teaching dance since the age of 14 and has a background in Jazz, Hip Hop and Contemporary, completing her Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Studies 2010, UoA.

Formerly the head of dance department at Excel School of Performing Arts from 2011-2015, she has also been part of the HHI Dance Crew competitions, performed as back up dancer for various NZ artists and created numerous choreographies in both hip hop and contemporary styles over the years.

Justine has been part of the HHI street dance scene in various dance crews. She studied at The University of Auckland in Dance Studies, with a focus on performance dance and Hip Hop.

Justine leads the way for our North Shore dance fitness classes, featuring in gyms and community venues across Albany and Mairangi Bay

Brittany Kohler is a contemporary dance artist, Dance Movement Therapist and dance teacher. Brittany danced Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz throughout her school years, leading her into full-time Contemporary Dance study in the Unitec Performing and Screen Arts programme from 2014-2016.

 

Immediately after completing her degree, Brittany discovered Dance & Arts Therapy NZ, where she began getting involved in dance therapy and drop-in dance sessions for neurodiverse and disabled adults and children. Brittany's dance facilitation practice has expanded through working with a variety of populations, specifically in the disability sector and with older adults.

 

 "I believe that dance is for all, and that everyone has something wonderful to offer in a dance class. I loves encouraging people to express themselves, and to move however they feel." - Brittany
